Why IVOLO?

The meaning of the name IVOLO is International Voluntary Organisation for Learning Opportunities which is reflected in our activities and beliefs. As a non profit organisation we ensure exceptional value for money to young people many of whom are from a disadvantaged background who participate and lead our activities and for grant funders ensuring the grant is spent on quality activities. Our projects are open to all learners with our selection process fair and transparent with an emphasis on selecting those who have not had the opportunity to travel abroad before, from low-income households and will benefit the most from all stages of the project. The operation of our projects is based upon three main principles:

1. Individualised approach to learners’ needs,

2. creation of safe environment,

3. teaching of good social practices and opportunity for self-reflection, through soft skills training.

IVOLO strives to ensure all of our activities reach the highest standards and we are a beacon of good practice. Our policies include: Child Protection, Safeguarding, volunteer, complaints policy, confidentiality and data protection, conflict of interest, incident prevention and reporting policy, lone working and personal security, purchasing and procurement policy and an environmental statement.
